Frequently asked questions

What files will I get with your service?
For logos, you will receive two versions, color and b/w (for faxes) plus a complete set of industry standard file formats suitable for web use and for domestic and professional print output. The following file formats are supplied (based on a typical logo design project): Resolution Independent Vector: Industry standard Illustrator (.ai), CorelDRAW (.cdr) & EPS files, Print Resolution (300dpi): Layered Adobe Photoshop (.psd), TIF, JPG & PDF files, Web Resolution (72 dpi): Layered Adobe Photoshop (.psd) and a range of sizes in the most suitable file type out of JPG & GIF. Other file types are available on request.

How long will the design process take?
This will always depend on the task, and of course the complexity of the design and revisions requested. As well as physically designing your logo, I will undertake research to ensure optimum suitability. Typically, designs can be turned around from start to completion in seven days - but sometimes much sooner. How does the design process work?

Step 1: Creative Brief
To effectively create any kind of artwork for you, be it a logo or a complete identity package, I would need to understand the requirements of your company. Here, you would tell me about your business, ideas, goals, the target audience, etc. It always helps to get an idea of what kind of design you like if you give me samples of other designs that you like or dislike.

Step 2: Short listing initial designs
Depending on your timeframe for the project, you will get at least 5 initial samples (if not more) to pick from. You may choose one of these or discard all if you don't like any. In that case, I would start from scratch. However, this rarely happens as my designs would be based on the brief you give me and I would stick to those guidelines.

Step 3: Finalizing selected artwork
Once you have picked the initial design, I will fine tune it and complete the changes (if any) that have been requested by you. This step would continue as long as you were not completely satisfied with the final product. I will make unlimited number of changes until your design is just the way you want it.

Step 4: Final approval
After you have given your approval on the final design, you will receive your artwork in most of the basic graphic formats (jpg, tiff, ai, etc) or whatever other format you require.

How will I receive my files?
A private link is provided for you to download them from or I can email them directly to you. I can also burn files to CD and mail them to you if requested. How many revisions can I have? As many as you need until you are completely satisfied with the end result.

How does the billing process work?
We can bill on either an hourly or on a project-fee basis, depending on the project requirements and the client's preferences. For hourly fees, there is a minimum of at least 10 hours work required. If the client is alright with giving us some freedom, there is no need to precisely define the project before beginning, which allows for more creativity and flexibility in the course of the project. When working hourly, we always bill fairly, and never charge the client for any mistakes. Payment by check is preferred. Returned checks are subject to a processing fee of $25.00, as well as an overdue payment charge, if applicable. Please make all checks payable to 'Leopard Design Studio'.

While we try to provide an accurate estimate for the project before beginning work on it, the final amount may change due to circumstances like a lot of revisions requested by the client or other changes that may increase the total time spent on the project, and therefore the cost. We always try to keep the project within the constraints of the estimated time and cost. The client will be informed beforehand of any budget / time issues and will go ahead accordingly based on his approval so that there are no surprises.

I already have a logo but it's only a low resolution format online - can you redraw it for me so that I can print it out on my stationery & advertising?
I can redo your logo in vector format - that can be enlarged to any size without loss of resolution and can be used for printing on business cards & letterheads as well.

I've misplaced the files that you sent me - can I get them again?
Yes! I regularly archive all design jobs and should you lose your files, I'll be able to recover them for you free of charge.

I still have questions - where can I find out more?
